Trust you to find a good looking power tool! Just remember to hook the power lead over your right shoulder when using it - it prevents jig-sawing the lead which can be spectacular (and deadly if you don't have a power trip-switch connected).
Don't know if you have ever seen Susan's (Colorado, USA) and her mosaics. She "builds up layers" of wood for some of her three dimensional mosaics. My daughter and I have taken a class from Susan - very interesting. We plan to go back.
