New skill

I am going to learn a new skill.
I need shaped base boards for some mosaic projects.
 So......I am acquiring a jigsaw.
Lots of patience will be required!

And strict adherence to all safety precautions.

Very pretty for a power tool.

do you mean it is NOT good to use your foot to hold the wood steady?

best of luck :-)

That's a very pretty power town (love the blue/black color combo). You are braver than me to acquire it!

Your side bar Mary Oliver poem caught my eye, too. Lovely.

can't wait to see what you create! (Am bereft - lost my little HHB yellow calico bag on a hike in the woods :(

Trust you to find a good looking power tool! Just remember to hook the power lead over your right shoulder when using it - it prevents jig-sawing the lead which can be spectacular (and deadly if you don't have a power trip-switch connected).

Don't know if you have ever seen Susan's (Colorado, USA) and her mosaics. She "builds up layers" of wood for some of her three dimensional mosaics. My daughter and I have taken a class from Susan - very interesting. We plan to go back.
