Signature

The porcelain gum leaf

Tucked into a mosaic to identify it as my work.

I spent an hour cutting out more of the little gum leaves. An old glass jar keeps them safe.

Another project, 'The twelve days of Christmas', is nearly finished. Once again I hope it will be accepted at the local art centre. I am pleased with the results (small pieces that fit into the palm of my hand).  Now have I to decide how to display the work and photograph the pieces to their advantage.

Back to work...

Lovely unique 'signature', hhb! I've said this before... I wish you were closer so I could give you some broken pottery pieces to make something new for me.

Beautiful.

When I threw pots, I made a yin/yang to press into the bottoms. Still have it.

That signature is PERFECT.

I dream of one day commissioning a piece from you.

What a joy to see your thumbnail photo in my sidebar. I've been waiting patiently for news from Secret Hill Mosaics. I like this signature idea of yours very much and the gum leaf is perfect. Good luck with the art centre.I'm sure they are going to love "The twelve days of Christmas". Small pieces that fit into the palm of your hand ..... I can't wait to see more!! Soon I hope :-)

Having minutely examined our lovely birdbath I cannot find the "signature". Is this because it is an early example of your genre, before this addition and does this make it extremely valuable? (If so I must tell the birds to go careful!)

Avus. Yes, you have an early piece.
Tell those blackbirds behave themselves!

I could get lost in those blues, HHnB!

Your signature leaf seems right at home amid the blues, as if an errant leaf were floating against a perfect October sky.
