'...my true love sent to me...'
A brown paper parcel.
Inside, a golden box holding
twelve porcelain and terracotta hearts.
Each engraved with a word inspired by the song.
Hearts small enough to hold in your hand.
My entry for the local art centre
Christmas exhibiton.

Hearts created new out of broken pieces. A very mature set of hearts, lovely and unique, eschewing perfection, enduring.
Hello. I think we have some things in common! Shame we're not near as I have lots of stained glass offcuts perfect for your craft. ♥
Did you make these? They're splendid!
P. all my own work.
Oooh, I love these! Beautifully crafted and presented! Hearts are one of my favourite Christmas decorations, as they are quite Scandinavian. Yours surpass my humble stuffed red cloth ones that I made years ago.
HHnB, I'm in love with your box of hearts! Absolutely wonderful!
I've been remiss in ignoring the working HHB, my apologies. Creativity in the visual arts is beyond me and I can only sit back and applaud. In fact the difference between us can be measured by the tools we own. Whereas you have opted for the comparative delicacy of a jigsaw (Called a sauteuse in France and the source of a thousand dirty jokes due to its links with the verb sauter - to jump.) I chose the angle-grinder, more of a weapon than a tool, and only used by those who haven't a single aesthetic bone in their body.
I could give you advice on the trumpet but the first step would be cleaning. Simple enough for the exterior but an utterly disgusting task when you turn to the innards.
I duly enlarged the ceramic tiles and picked up the quote. I think it needs a coda which your self-evident skills will allow you to ignore. "To have a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. However, continuing wrongness may call for another diagnosis."
There's a question I'd like to ask about cement and/or glue with mosaics but fear it might be too mundane.
BB. Indeed I know about the innards of brass instruments. The Alchemist enlightened me regarding the 'spit valve' in trombones. The floor around the trombones in an orchestra is often awash!
The glue for mosaic can vary depending on the sub strata. I use thick or thin set cement, 'liquid nails' or PVA.
I hope I do not suffer from 'continuing wrongness'.
Your hearts are truely beautiful.
brilliant, tender, and precious all at once. Looking closely at them, i feel one in the palm of my hand...
