Mish Mash TV Interviews Janet Keen at her Rotorua Mosaic and painting Studio.

Thursday, July 26, 2012

I've always had a dream of being interviewed on television.
I used to go to Toastmasters International  and  a number of years ago  I did a qualification on television presenting, so in my mind I was prepared.
 I just needed the opportunity.

Out of the blue last week I got a phone call  from Mish Mash TV asking me if I was interested in being

Glass Blowing studio visit in Rotorua

Sunday, July 22, 2012

My photography friend Sharon Love and I  went for a  short photo shoot on Friday morning to the de Flute Glass Studio and Gallery  in Fairy Springs Road, ( Opposite Skyline Skyrides),   Rotorua.

We were aiming  to get some award winning shots  for the next  Rotorua Camera Club competition on glass.

It was great to go to another artists studio to see Ron

Being careful about what you write, you never get a second chance to represent yourself as a saint.

A teacher I greatly respected wrote this poem in my friendship book when I was eight.
Her name was Miss Sayer and she was beautiful, like an angel with dark curly hair and kind green eyes.
I have never forgotten her words.

You tell on yourself by the way you walk
By the things on which you delight to talk
By the manner in which you bear defeat
By so simple a thing as how you eat.

My husband Graham and I sometimes go  down to Kuirau Park market
about 9am on a Saturday.
We  buy some samosas at the Indain stand closest
to the foot baths, (me vegetarian, him meat) and sit down with our feet
in  the  thermal water, while munching.

 The story
I took Wieland (photographer) to Kuirau Park market one Autumn morning for a photoshoot for a

Waimiha Sawmill photographic adventure with Rotorua and South Waikato Camera Clubs (plus others)

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Waimiha Mill just past Bennydale on the road to Te kuiti about 2 hours drive from Rotorua was this Saturdays Creative Adventure.
It's like going back into a giant dishevelled,  yet intensely beautiful  time warp.
I love the colours that  occur on man-made objects that are left to decay out on the weather over time.

Impressionist Lake View Photographs of lake Rotorua from Kawaha Point

                    This  hazy view

of still waters running shallow on a  lake, next to a wharf

                       with the setting sun

                       reflected and shadowed

was a waiting for me as though I  had never left it.

I knew the hues to be muted, inky  and sombre and iced like a cake

Early Morning photographs, outside my front gate.

Tuesday, July 10, 2012

All the experts know the best  landscape photographs are obtained early morning or just on dusk.
I am venturing  out regularly during winter to obtain quintessential misty shots.
Where did I go today?
Just outside  my front gate.
Miracles are everywhere.

Positive Affirmation Angels.

I am always in search of  marble  angel statues because I think they are poignant and uplifting.
I found these in a Taranaki  cemetery when I  went with my husband for a holiday  for a couple of weeks.
I have never seen such a concentraton of them in such a small place.
It was angel  heaven.

I hope you find these uplifting....

You already possess everything you need to become great.

It is now  a light filled and modern place with beautiful views.
The galleries are large and accommodating for the works.

I have always loved Fine Art Photographer, Fiona Pardington's work, most of which I  have only
